What We Do
Hearts Above The Sea (HATS) is an Australian registered charity with the aim of delivering educational projects and solutions to the low lying nations in the South Pacific who are affected by global climate change, starting with Kiribati. Kiribati’s existence is under threat from climate change.
The Hearts Above The Sea work is aligned to UN SDG 4: Inclusive and equitable quality education for all; and UN SDG 13: Climate Action.
Our Goals
-
Create Solutions
We use our skills and partner with organisations who are passionate about climate change and the human impact it’s having on nations around the world.
-
Raise Awareness
Several low lying South Pacific nations are projected to become uninhabitable in the coming decades. We aim to educate, raise awareness, and build international friendships through connections with the people of Kiribati and Pacific Island nations.
-
Provide Education
Our Virtual Cultural Exchange Program provides teachers with off-the-shelf learning programs, in line with teaching curriculums. Students use peer-to-peer learning on culture and the human impacts of climate change.
-
Preserve Culture
The Virtual Cultural Exchange Program captures content to serve as a cultural catalogue for future generations.
